Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is an Mexican American performer, singer and actress. Her family was home-schooled by her mother within the USA. She was subjected to racial remarks and made to feel unwanted. In the 9th grade, she started to feel more confident when she was applauded by her teachers when she sang at the school's audition. The singer not only gained confidence from the experience, but she also changed the direction of her career. The 22-year-old graduated with a degree from Julliard School in New York. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. In the Broadway first production of Spamalot, she played the role of Lady of The Lake and was awarded the Tony Award as well as high praise from critics. The following year she was made the lead character the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her becoming more famous. As a well-known singer, she has also released both an album and a musical. As an activist, she works tirelessly to promote LGBT equality.
